Cyst Removal

Cysts are small fluid filled lumps that lie just beneath the skin. They are common and the majority of them are harmless. They can grow in size over time and occasionally become infected. The reasons to remove them include pain, infection and cosmetic embarrassment.

How can I get rid of my cyst?

Some cysts will shrink by themselves. However, others will require surgical removal. My Huq will examine you carefully and advise you on whether surgery will be needed. The surgery is carried out under a local anaesthetic and usually takes around 30 minutes. It is important to understand that surgery will leave you with a small scar, but this will be less noticeable than the lumpy cyst.
